The Southern Plain

An accursed land of loathsome lords, the Southern Plain slowly turns from east to west, from forest to deserts, from trees to curious rock formation and ocher cities. Its beasts are hidden, but abundant, and the land was once ruled fully by the Emperor, until Athachief of the Moonlit City, Chlodomer the Great, saw a blood moon one night and used his death to rebel and gain independence. As he did, the Empire dissolved, leaving instead a puzzle of rulers all vying for blood and dominance.

The Empire of the Horn, the largest of most powerful realm still, is the furthest east. Its ruler is a bitter and vengeful one, wanting to reconquer what he lost as a young boy to Chlodomer the First. He’s fought off many rebellions, and now he prepares to act, although history may not favour him.

The Palanian Kingdom is the realm of Chlodomer the First, although he has since died, and left the realm to his child and brothers, the latter forming a treacherous regency. Yet still the Moonlit City stands, proudly defying the Empire through its own faith, Hero Worship. House Bloodmoon awaits its next feats.

The Duchy of Alanar is a land forged around the triangular city, one bearing the same name and three mighty walls. It is large, and famed across Speros. Its Duke, patient and clever, constantly has to fend off his impetuous brother, reminding Narind not to be too stupid or brash. Their land prospers, and their walls stand, but this may not last long. It is said their realm was also founded by an original hero of the Tarentian Band, much like Darmic and the Gaeseric Kingdom.

The Vithic County is little known. It is a border realm, fending off mountain beasts and tribal savages. Its capital is carved into the mountain’s rear, and its Count is never seen outside of it. As such, what can one say other than there are perhaps many fascinations waiting within?

The County of Lilian, greatness upon the comet they say, for their city is indeed built upon a comet. Although, perhaps they merely say so because Lilian has little to impress. The city itself is small, as is the realm, and other than a wooden palissade, there is not much to behold. Bah, nothing to interest you here. At least their crest is just astrological as those of the rest of the region, for the men of the Plain are a superstitious kind. Maybe greatness is yet to come for Lilian.

Oh, dear reader, you shan’t want to hear of this repulsive realm. Its capital, Fang-Port, is host to nothing but filthy plots and dirty schemes, and its government is host to nothing but old and dreary courtiers. Indeed, it is what they call a democracy, one of commerce and fish markets, but in that democracy their is nothing but arguing, and frankly not even the people of the realm enjoy the realm, for it takes at least three months to come to any decision.
